“What is the saddest thing we do to our bodies in our contemporary culture? Maybe the fact that we hardly move.
We fence our bodies in, and miss the joy of moving and cheering freely. Think how easily we get to 9 seated hours a day. How to deal with stress, pressure and adrenaline overload? Is it compensation? Fitness to the extreme and to exhaustion? And do we keep track of the result by measuring and metering? Are we lived or are we able to hold space? For me? For you?
Holding space is a performance where five dancers fight body boredom and consider the physical challenge of inaction.
